Authentic Fabrics
Kanjivaram silk, Sambalpuri cotton and real zari sourced through traditional weaving clusters rather than printed imitations.
Raas & Co. creates classical dancewear and ethnic fashion rooted in Indian craft — bringing together artisan-made fabrics, stage-ready tailoring and the movement needs of real performers.
It began backstage — with a borrowed costume that never fit quite right.
The beginning of Raas & Co.
Raas & Co. was founded by a Bharatanatyam dancer and a third-generation weaving family with one clear purpose: to create costumes that honour classical traditions while allowing performers to move freely on stage.
Our pieces pass through artisan partners across Kanchipuram, Sambalpur and Varanasi before reaching the tailoring studio, where each costume is cut and finished with performance movement in mind.
Kanjivaram silk, Sambalpuri cotton and real zari sourced through traditional weaving clusters rather than printed imitations.
Costumes are stitched to individual measurements with movement allowance for aramandi, chauk, chakkars and stage performance.
Raas & Co. works with dance schools and academies for arangetrams, annual productions and festival performances.
We focus on achieving the right fit and support alterations where needed, because stagewear needs to move with the performer.
Every custom costume follows a simple process built around the dancer, the dance form and the final performance.
Select from Bharatanatyam, Odissi, Kathak or Rabindrik styles and choose the colour, fabric and overall look.
Measurements are confirmed before stitching so the garment is planned around your body and movement requirements.
The finished costume is prepared for performance so you can focus on the stage instead of worrying about the fit.
Raas & Co. is not only about costumes. It is about preserving the visual language of classical dance while making it practical for today's performers.
From fabric sourcing to tailoring, our approach connects traditional craft communities with dancers who continue to keep these art forms alive.
Every decision is guided by authenticity, movement and respect for the traditions behind each dance form.
